Katrina Aftermath
I believe that this book will tell the story of New Orleans, Hurricane Katrina, and its survivors. I believe that this book will give me as a reader an insight on the city as it recovers from one of the most chaotic storms in American History. I feel that this storm as havoc in every way possible; it nearly destroyed and wiped New Orleans off of the map. When the storm first hit i felt that the city would never recover fully and New Orleans would be just another scar on America's skin. When I first heard of Katrina I thought that she wouldn't do too much damage, but when she hit I knew that all hope was lost for the city. Her path of destruction was more powerful than anyone could prepare for. How ever our "trusty' government stepped in and made everything all better." Yeah I wish. What actually happened was, the government stepped in and tried to help but, they were very disorganized. The help that was given helped more than you could imagine. But for Kanye West to say that George Bush does not like black people, well I think that was a silly cry for attention. And before he made that response he should have asked himself, what did he do for the "black people" of New Orleans. The whole thing was a big mess and no one had the right to point fingers.
